Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 6 pieces bone-in chicken thighs Packed with flavor and juiciness
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Brings an aromatic touch
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Adds depth and sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika Provides a subtle smokiness
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt Essential for flavoring
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Adds balance and heat
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce Star ingredient for glazing

Method

Marination
  1. Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl and sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper over the thighs. Toss until fully coated. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Grilling
  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat and oil the grates to prevent sticking. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down and grill for approximately 7 minutes.
  2. Carefully flip the thighs over and grill for 3 more minutes, then brush BBQ sauce lightly on the side facing up.
  3. Grill for an additional 3 minutes to allow the sauce to adhere and caramelize.
  4. Flip the chicken back and apply more BBQ sauce. Cook for 2 additional minutes.
  5. Finally, flip the chicken once more skin-side up, brushing with BBQ sauce again. Grill until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, around 20 minutes total.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate overnight. Adjust grill heat if needed and use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness.
