Ingredients

For the Sliders
  • 12 pieces slider or dinner rolls soft and airy
  • 1 lb roast beef deli meat thinly sliced
  • 12 slices provolone cheese melting beautifully
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter melted for golden finish
For the Horseradish Sauce
  • 1/2 cup prepared horseradish gives a sharp, spicy kick
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise for a creamy balance
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice brightens the flavors
  • 1/2 – 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce adds depth and umami
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper for warmth
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt to enhance flavors

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine horseradish, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  3. In a 9x13 baking dish, place the bottom half of the rolls and spread half of the horseradish sauce over them.
  4. Layer 6 slices of provolone cheese over the bottom rolls.
  5. Top with roast beef, folding it to fit each roll.
  6. Drizzle with remaining horseradish sauce, and add the remaining cheese layers.
  7. Close with the tops of the rolls.
  8. Brush the tops with melted butter and cover with foil.
Baking
  1. Bake covered for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

Consider toasting the rolls for extra texture or adding jalapeños for heat. Substitute provolone with cheddar or Swiss to vary flavors. You can prepare sliders ahead of time, just hold baking until ready to serve.
