Ingredients
Method
Dough Preparation
- Combine all-purpose flour and water in a mixing bowl. Knead until smooth and not sticky, then cover with a damp cloth and let rest for about 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a long cylinder. Cut in half and then each half into 12 small pieces. Flatten each piece into a round dumpling wrapper, about 4 inches in diameter.
Filling Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine all filling ingredients and mix well.
Dumpling Assembly
- Take a dumpling wrapper and place it on your palm. Scoop about 1 teaspoon of filling onto the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold to create a half-moon shape, and seal tightly.
- Arrange dumplings on parchment-lined plate to prevent sticking.
Cooking Dumplings
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Drop in dumplings and cook until they float, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove with a strainer and transfer to a plate.
- Heat a skillet with oil and pan-fry dumplings until the bottoms are light brown, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and fry until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
For best results, ensure the dough has elastic consistency. Experiment with different proteins or vegetables for unique flavors. Store uncooked dumplings layered with parchment in the freezer.
