Method
Preparation
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Fill two saucepans about one-third full of water and bring to a boil, then reduce to a low boil.
Melting the Chocolate
- Place a heat-safe glass bowl over each saucepan, ensuring the bowl doesn’t touch the water.
- Add the milk or semi-sweet chocolate to one bowl and the white chocolate to the other; stir occasionally as they melt.
Creating the Bark
- Spoon the melted chocolates alternately onto the lined cookie sheet, creating swirls and patterns.
- Gently drag a butter knife through the chocolate layers for a marble effect.
- Sprinkle the crushed peppermints over the chocolate.
- Chill the cookie sheet in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours to let the chocolate harden.
- Once set, snap or cut the bark into irregular pieces and serve.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor, and consider adding nuts or colorful sprinkles for decoration.
