Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 5 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts Tender and juicy, these chicken breasts are the perfect protein base for the dish.
  • 16 ounces frozen broccoli Vibrant and nutritious, this broccoli adds a fresh bite and a splash of color to the casserole.
  • 2 cups milk Creamy and smooth, milk brings richness to the sauce.
  • 16 ounces cream cheese This luscious cream cheese creates a velvety texture and infuses the casserole with deep flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt Aromatic and flavorful, garlic salt enhances every bite with its savory essence.
  • ¾ cup shredded Parmesan cheese This sharp, nutty cheese adds depth and a delicious crust to the casserole.
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers These buttery, crispy crackers make the perfect topping, giving the dish an irresistible crunch.

Method

Cooking the Chicken
  1. Place the chicken breasts in a pot of boiling water. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until fully cooked. Slice or break into bite-sized pieces.
Preparing the Broccoli
  1. In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add frozen broccoli and cook for about 3-5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
Assembling the Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish and layer the cooked broccoli evenly at the bottom.
Making the Creamy Sauce
  1. In a saucepan over low heat, combine milk, cream cheese, garlic salt, and shredded Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously until smooth and creamy.
Combining and Layering
  1. Pour a cup of creamy sauce over the broccoli, then add the chicken pieces. Drizzle remaining sauce over the chicken.
Topping and Baking
  1. Sprinkle ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese and crushed Ritz crackers on top. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

Notes

For added flavor, sauté onions or bell peppers in the saucepan before the milk mixture. Fresh broccoli can be used by blanching before layering. Customize by adding cooked pasta or rice.
