Method

Preparation
  1. Lightly butter the bottom and sides of a 9x13 baking pan and set aside.
  2. In a small pot, melt the butter over low heat and add the minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat.
  3. In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  4. Add warmed milk, egg, and the garlic butter mixture to the dry ingredients. Knead on low speed until the dough is smooth, soft, and tacky.
  5. Cut the dough into 12 equal portions and shape into smooth balls.
Rising
  1. Cover the dough with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and set in a warm place to rise until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) while the rolls are rising.
Baking
  1. Once risen, brush tops with beaten egg wash.
  2. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. While baking, melt the remaining butter in a pot with minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Immediately brush rolls with garlic butter mixture after baking and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

Notes

Warm the milk to about 110°F to activate the yeast. For a stronger garlic flavor, consider roasting the garlic beforehand. Be mindful while kneading to avoid over-mixing.
