Ingredients

For the baked brie
  • 1 wheel 21 oz wheel brie cheese Smooth and tantalizing soft cheese.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted) Use creamy, rich butter for a luscious texture.
  • 2-4 cloves garlic (minced) Choose fresh garlic for an aromatic punch.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional) Enhances overall flavor; use sparingly.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (optional) Adds subtle warmth and depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves Provides a refreshing note to the dish.
For serving
  • 1 pack whole-grain crackers or crostini Crispy options for dipping into the gooey cheese.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Carefully unbox the brie cheese and remove any wrapping paper. Score the top of the brie in a crosshatch pattern using a knife.
  3. Place the scored brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic with the melted butter.
  5. Pour the garlic and butter mixture over the top of the brie.
  6. Sprinkle with salt, ground black pepper, and fresh thyme leaves.
Baking
  1. Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Keep an eye on it; you want the brie to be lightly melted but not overly runny.
Serving
  1. Carefully transfer the baked brie to a serving plate.
  2. Serve immediately alongside whole-grain crackers or crostini for dipping.

Notes

To intensify the flavor, consider adding a drizzle of honey or some nuts before serving. For a stronger garlic flavor, roast the garlic cloves beforehand. Be creative with herbs like rosemary or sage for a twist.
